Don't know if you're still looking for information about the golden lotus flower (last photo of this blogpost). The golden lotus is native to Yunnan Province and is related to bananas. Here is a link to some information on it from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musella_lasiocarpa
