Hello from Kunming
We arrived in Kunming, the provincial capital of Yunnan, around noon today and headed to the observatory after lunch. Rainy and cloudy out so we were unable to use the telescope to see the stars tonight, but we did take a tour of their facilities. Tonight's activity will be a lesson on useful Chinese phrases.
We have limited Internet access now, but will do our best to keep posting updates to the blog so stay tuned.

Hope you love Kunming- be sure to order some "across the bridge noodles" and have some tea poured from the amazing tea pourers who fill your cup from 3 feet away. Great to read of your adventures and look forward to hearing more soon from Yunnan.

Hi,
So far so good in Yunnan. Sam- glad to hear all is well, and I miss you! We should have more pictures coming soon of our adventures here in Kunming. The food has been fantastic- spicier than I expected (which I'm happy about!), and quite varied. Everything has been very fresh, and everyone in the group has been willing to get a bit out of their comfort zones and try some new things. We'll keep you posted!
