June 18: Day 3: Voices of Myzel, Nyesha, Pachan, and Maya

A kindergarten boy who just ate a C.E.S.A.R.-prepared breakfast!
Quan and Michael have both written blog entries by now, and I am hoping that the other four follow suit and do so as well in the near future. However, in order to allow all students to express their voice, I handed each of the other four who have not yet written, Myzel, Maya, Nyesha, and Pachan, a sheet of paper with 2 questions on it. The first question was individualized; no two students got the same. The second was given to all four and was phrased as such: "What do you want to tell people at home who may be reading this?" Their responses were as follows:
Myzel:
What is the moment of the trip so far when you felt the most pride? Why?
The pool. It feels good when I jump in. I love it.
What do you want to tell people at home who may be reading this?
I miss my mom. And I'm going to call my friends.
Nyesha:
What moment of the trip has made you happiest? Why?
I liked climbing the mountain because it was a HUGE accomplishment and serving breakfast because it was nice to see the smiles on the kids' faces when we helped them.
What do you want to tell people at home who may be reading this?
I miss you!
Pachan:
What has been the most memorable part of the trip so far, and why?
Climbing the mountain. I still have the pain in my legs. Ha ha ha!
What do you want to tell people at home who may be reading this?
I want to tell them to never climb a mountain!
Maya
What is the best thing we've done so far, and why?
Feeding the kids in La Estacion. They were really sweet and cute.
What do you want to tell people at home who may be reading this?
To my family: I love you and I can't wait to see you!

A happy Myzel before leaving Chicago
