Hello From Delhi
Hello All. After a few day's of exploring just a few of the many amazing sites this city has to offer we have finally made it to a cumputer and are all bloging away. After only three days of being here i feel like we have already experienced so much. From practicing our cartwheels at the Ghandi museum, seeing more animatronics in the many temples then i have in disney world, or indulging in some amazing brain curry, we are all pumped and ready for more. Tonight we will be boarding the night train to beggin our 4 day boat journey down the ganges. Hope all is well back home.
Matt

Hi Matt-Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the first days in Delhi... don't worry about the electonic element to the temples, museums, etc. once you leave Delhi you probably won't see any of that for a good long time.. (I prefer the traditional temples myself but the "Disneyfied" ones provide interesting examples to compare to...)and to question and consider how core values are being retained or changed as much of India modernizes. I find it strange but thought provoking to go to the Gandhi Smitri/Memorial and watch techni-color digital sayings of Gandhi flashing on the walls extolling the virtues of simplicity, when a painted sign would share the message in a way that would seem more in line with Gandhi-ji's teachings? India is a land of many perplexities and contrasts and I am excited to see how you and the group feel about experiencing and witnessing it all in the weeks and months to come... Michelle:)
