I love Chai

Chris bathes in the Ganges
I don't know how I lived until four days ago. I have never liked coffee and tea never grabbed me, but Chai is caffeinated candy that I can't stop drinking. The day does not begin until I have Chai and a parata (spelled wrong) or a samosa. It started the morning we arrived in India. We left the Mohini Palace for the Woodlands Restaurant a couple blocks away. I was jetlagged and grumpy from traveling for 48 hours and wanted to go to bed. I was apprehensive about the meal because I love peanut butter Captain Krunch and a glass of oj in the morning, and I was pretty sure that was not on the menu. The restaurant was completely empty and I had a feeling that this was not a rare occurrence. This worried me because Brad had said don't eat at an empty restaurant.
As I stared at the menu wondering what these strange words were, the waiter brought out a pot of Chai and tiny glasses for each of us. I was interested in trying Chai because Kempie had told me that Chai was great and I was looking for some caffeine. I took a sip of the of the mixture of milk, black tea and spice and thought, "This stuff is really good." Since then I haven't gone a morning or evening without a glass of Chai. I have burned my tongue raw from drinking the stuff, but I am hooked and won't be stopping.

Hey Chris! Your trip sounds awesome! India has always sounded like a neat place to visit. Chai sounds really good, I'll try some next time i'm at Starbucks!!!!! hahaha! We're going to Disney World for spring break, do you think it will be anything like India? Keep up your blog! It's fun to read it.

Chris-
I love chai too but beware- I had no cavities for over fifteen years and then when I came back from thirteen weeks in India (and too many glasses of chai at all hours of the day and night) I had 4 cavities! I suggest drinking lots of chai but remember to always carry a handy neem stick (or a toothbrush) to limit the damage! :) Michelle
PS- I enjoyed meeting your sister at her school yesterday... she looks SO MUCH like you!
